Linda's Blog #4
Dear Barb and Arnie.
Well, we all walked on water last Saturday. The birthday party for Monty
you will be pleased, was a somewhat of a triumph. The hostess, Marilynn,
Monty’s mom, welcomed the humans with asparagus and cream sandwiches and
other goodies like cake from Denmark!!
There were plate loads of dog biscuits on the floor. The guest list
included two other little white dogs I thought at first were rabbits.
Excitement rained possibilities............. or snowed as it is winter
here. Lucy Patricia did well, that is, until I did not understand her,
then she peed on the floor to get my attention. That is when we all
bundled up and walked on Jones Lake for a long walk. The dogs enjoyed
themselves, with some of the humans being sore afterwards I heard.
The human guest list included my guest Charlene who is still here
waiting to get into her apt around the corner. Another human was the
Director of the Military Resource Center who asked for a bunch of my
cards as he has families coming to town all the time. I gladly obliged!!
I am this afternoon meeting with the City of Moncton’s convention sales
Director to get on the list of accommodations they put out for upcoming
events. (During the week another Bed and Breakfast went up for sale, and
the owner found out that here in the City there are six now on the
market.)
I am more optimistic than I have been in a while, as her boss is
sympatric to our cause. This one that is coming basically is being told
to cooperate. Now to see how much this will cost. This has been an
ongoing battle for years.
The deep freeze appears to be lifting here, as it warmed up to snow.
Charlene who has moved here from Seattle has great difficulty when I say
it is warm out. It is -8 not -30. I had another ex guest over for pot
roast. After dinner we watched a video,” The Heist “ with Gene Hackman.
Can’t go wrong with him in a movie. Aside from the language the plot was
intriguing, and the white whine very tasty. My VCR doesn't like to re
wind after a full movie so I have to wait until the next day to get the
film out of the machine. Just another little idiosyncrasy of my life. I
have not seen Elaine in quite a while then ran into her soon after at
the grocery store. My original call to Elaine was to see if there were
any apartments in her building for Charlene.
