Linda's Blog #3

Dear Barb and Arnie,

February 15th today, and was out celebrating Valentine’s Day last night with 12 single women of all ages at Moncton’s fancy restaurant. The oldest woman was 80 year old and the youngest was 35. (Her 9-year-old son called 5 times while we were making merry. Even the mother admitted he was a momma’s boy.) Georgiana the 80-year complained thru out the eating experience that she usually ate at 5 and that there was no need to be still at it at 10. She told me she was a good Catholic, but I think she was a Presbyterian myself.

I had a good time, and took one of my guests with me. (My guest, Charlene told me over a cup of tea, that she had a tumor on her ovaries and had it recently removed.) She and I split a bottle of whine at last night’s festivities; I have to say I did enjoy it. We also had chocolate covered fortune cookies and I had two in mine, so double the luck, eh? I brought home the roses last night, but was too tired (?) to put them in water. They came with the little water holders so hopefully all the effort the Shirley; an ovarian cancer survivor will not go to waste. I have taken the hint and made an appointment with my G.P.

Today is raining and fog, I think we will miss the storm that has been plaguing Central Canada, or not. They hysterical that is called weather news is incredicable. Where do they think we live? Hawaii?

I have all the forms now to take to the accountant. Last year finaically was not so hot, and the roadwork moves to another address this year, Thank Goddess. I just have the lawn to deal with or mud as it is will be. I saw I had icicles and thought that I had insufficient insulation. I watched one of the government of Canada commercials, come to find out, the house is missing a bit of something or other, just like me. I have put a call into the handy person, Allen to come and climb the three stories to verify I have another project.

Lucy Patricia had a new golden retriever pal, Monty.

Who was rescued as well,. We have gone with him and his mistress walking on the frozen lake. The mistress is just as crazy about Goldenness as I am. Marilynn is having a birthday party for Monty this Saturday.

The party includes three other rescued animals of the golden variety. The first plan of the party I understand is a BIG walk.

So I am enjoying my summer holiday this year. I one room tonight maybe two if the weather is not too bad I am however ignoring the floors that need washing.

Think of you often; hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love to all,
